Ma. Teresa V. Taganile, the founding chairman of Ma. Teresa Charity Foundation, Inc. received the plaque of appreciation on February 9, 2026, at San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish-Recoleto, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

The San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish-Recoleto held a lights-on ceremony in front of the San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish in Talisay. The event highlights the unity of the church and the local government of Talisay City by working together for the good of the people and for the community at large.

Among the very important persons present in the said event are Hon. Maria Rowena Guadalupe Lopez-Lizares, City Mayor of Talisay,
Engr. Joe-Mel S. Zaporteza, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Negros Power Corporation,
Rev. Fr. Anthony A. Morillo, OAR, Parish Priest and Rector,
And of course Ma. Teresa V. Taganile, who received the plaque of appreciation for her valuable contribution during the re-painting project of the church.

The lighting ceremony is truly a great sign of hope and a concrete manifestation of the unity between the church and the government.

Hence, we continue to pray for our government leaders to work with the church so that hope, justice, and peace may be realized.
